Doing good never tasted so good.
Hello! Welcome to the website of E-Z Coffee Stand; a youth-led neighborhood initiative in Washington Heights in Milwaukee to help end poverty around the world. Here you will find our guestbook, updates on the stand, links, coupons, current news, and lots more! Find information that you'll need to visit our stand. Our stand supports charities like the United Nations International Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Heifer Project International, and more! Our neighborhood has raised over $1,500 dollars for these charities to help end poverty worldwide!
Every Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 AM, starting July 8th, 2009!
Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the corner of Hi Mount Blvd. and Vine Streets.
We're very excited to annouce that the E-Z Coffee Stand will make its 2009 debut on July 8th, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 AM on the corner of Hi-Mount Boulevard and Vine Streets.
This year, we will be supporting Growing Power, a local Milwaukee non-profit organization that trains people (mostly teens from Milwaukee) to grow, process, market, and distribute food through such projects as gardens, fish farming, vermiculture, bee keeping, and other projects. Find out more in upcoming weeks!
What to look forward to in '09:
On Opening Day (July 8th)
- Starting July 8th (and hopefully after!), our friend, Alexander Browne, a high school student from Rufus King, will be performing live jazz music for an hour at the coffee stand, which we'll call Java with Jazz.
- Enter in the drawing for a full-year subscription to GOOD Magazine, a socially conscious magazine for people who care. The magazine also features stories about world causes that matter.
- We'll also be playing videos about Growing Power that will be playing throughout the stand's hours so you can better understand this year's cause!
Throughout the Season
- We also will be introducing a unlimited free-refills a flat rate of $2.50 for a full-day's worth of endless Alterra Coffee.
- In the past, we've lost customers because they just don't drink coffee! However, we'll be serving assorted teas for our neighborhood tea-drinkers! The prices will be: 50¢ for a cup of hot water (bring your own tea bag) or $1.00 for an assorted tea supply with hot water as well.
- And finally.. We'll be creating a Twitter feed with the total amount of money raised to keep you updated with our progress.
We look forward to seeing you this summer!
- Elsa, Zach, Sydney, Alex and the rest of the 2009 E-Z Crew.
